In 2019, the Michelson Institute for Intellectual Property hosted a dinner for makerspace leaders at its first Makerspace Ecosystem Summit presented by the National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship (NACCE). The conference aims to present a variety of insightful topics relevant to the maker community. In 2020, the make/SHIFT conference returned virtually due to the pandemic. Again, Michelson IP was invited back to present on IP resources for today’s Makerspaces.

This year, the make/SHIFT 2.0 conference returned in a virtual format. Michelson IP was welcomed back to host an interactive mini-session on “Why IP Education is Vital to Makers & Entrepreneurs.” The initiative, alongside Pamela Bogdan of Ocean County College, presented different intellectual property scenarios one may encounter when working in makerspaces.
